You can take a practice TAKS test on-line. You should do it.
One of the best ways to prepare for the TAKS Exit Level examination remains taking practice questions similar to those found on the TAKS test, on the topics and material covered by TAKS. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) releases TAKS tests from time to time. The April 2009 test is one of those.
Just to make it easier, TEA put the test on-line in a form you can take and have scored immediately. You will find that exam here: http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/student.assessment/resources/online/2009/taks_g11_ss/11socialstudies.htm (double click the link, or copy and paste the URL).
[Having difficulty seeing the link? CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE APRIL 2009 TAKS]
There are 55 questions. If you read quickly you can take it handily in an hour. If you allow two hours, that should be good. The program will give you a scaled score when you’re done. Your target should be at least a 2400 scaled score.
You didn’t get a 2400? Take it again.

Okay, so, I took the practice TAKS… 53/55!!! The two that I did miss I could’ve avoided by reading the problem more carefully, and what suprised me was that I could go back, read over it, and fix it. In conclusion, I didn’t score perfect, but I’m pretty sure if I slow it down a little bit I can score perfect on the upcoming TAKS, the one that counts. Thanks for all your help; I couldn’t have done it without you.

Wow, I guess i’ll probably not be passing this upcoming TAKS. I scored a 2158 on practice one. 33/55.

Sarcasm so becomes you!
Nice score — just a few more questions to “commended.”
Which areas do you need to work in, Adrianna?

Not sure why it wouldn’t allow a score. Check to be sure it wasn’t opening a new window with the score sheet — sometimes that new window shows up under the window you’re browsing in.

Think how much farther ahead you’d be had you done this on time, when it was assigned last month! Then you would have had time to spell check your post.
Do you know the difference between “bout” and “about?”
